Description of Accident: A fatal plane crash occurred in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, resulting in the death of one person. The incident involved a single-engine Beech BE-35 aircraft that crashed in a field, approximately 6 miles from Orangeburg Municipal Airport. The wreckage was discovered by law enforcement helicopters later in the day. The flight originated from Lowcountry Regional Airport in Walterboro and was en route to Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens Airport. The cause of the crash is currently unknown. The FAA, NTSB, and local authorities are conducting an investigation.
