Description of Accident: An ongoing investigation is taking place in South Carolina following the tragic death of a 22-year-old police officer. The officer was responding to a call for assistance on train tracks along East Main Street around 5 am. Despite Easley Police Department asking Norfolk Southern to stop all trains in the area, the officer was struck and killed by an oncoming train. He wase attempting to help a suicidal individual at the time of the collision. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has taken charge of the ongoing investigation.
