Description of Accident: A routine patrol took a tragic turn when a Horry County Police Department officer’s vehicle struck and killed a 66-year-old beachgoer from Myrtle Beach. The incident occurred at the Nash Street beach access, near Springmaid Pier, around 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. South Carolina Highway Patrol claimed that the truck entered the beach and struck the woman, who was seated in a beach chair. The victim, a well-known Myrtle Beach nurse, was then taken to the hospital where she died.
