Description of Accident: A tragic three-vehicle collision occurred early Thursday morning on I-26 in Lexington County, leaving two people dead and two others injured. The crash happened around 2:45 AM near mile marker 90 on I-26 West. A 47-year-old woman and her 23-month-old child were in a Nissan sedan that slowed down for traffic behind a tractor-trailer. A Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the back of the Nissan, pushing it into the rear of the tractor-trailer. Both the woman and the toddler were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accident caused significant traffic delays as all lanes were blocked.
