Description of Accident: A fatal collision in Sumter County on Wednesday afternoon left one person dead and another injured. The crash occurred on Pinewood Road near Cody Road, approximately two miles north of Pinewood. A 2015 GMC Acadia traveling south collided with a 2022 Ford F150 heading north. After the collision, the Ford F150 veered off the right side of the road, striking a ditch. The driver of the Ford, a 58-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC Acadia was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
