Description of Accident: A fatal collision on Highway 78 in Summerville early Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 36-year-old man. The accident occurred near Poplar Grove Place and involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle. The tractor-trailer was pulling out onto Highway 78 heading west when it was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling eastbound. The force of the impact left the driver of the vehicle entrapped. Tragically, the man succumbed to his injuries, which were described as blunt force trauma, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
