2017 Myrtle Beach Marathon

Participate in Myrtle Beach Marathon as they celebrate the 20th year on March 2-4, 2017! Starting out near Broadway at the Beach, taking a quick turn into The Market Common area, and meeting the crowds at the finish line in the parking lot of Ticketreturn.com Field – home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Choose between the opinions of a half marathon or full. Because the race takes place in the offseason – away from the peak summer vacation months – there are plenty of ways to find deals on accommodations in Myrtle Beach.

Dr. Seuss Day at Brookgreen Gardens

Enjoy Dr. Seuss’s Birthday celebration in the Brookgreen Gardens on March 4th. Dress up like your favorite Dr. Seuss character and take part in the fun activities planned for the day in conjunction with “Read Across America Day”. Brookgreen host “Reading Day” by inviting families to come together to enjoy a read aloud of books. This program is free with garden admission.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival

North Myrtle Beach’s 29th annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade will be help on Main Street, March 11th. Rain or shine, celebrate the Irish and welcome the coming spring. A parade begins the day at 9am, followed by two stages of live music, rides, amusements, crafts, services, information, products, and a variety of treats.

Original Drifter, The Coasters & Platters

Experience the sounds of the good old days as The Alabama Theatre welcomes the Drifters, Coasters and Platters to the stage during their concert series. Classic sounds of the 50s and 60s will fill the stage as The Coasters are known for their hits like “Sweet Georgia Brown” and “Yakety Yak”. The Drifters will take you back with “Save the Last Dance for Me” and “Under the Boardwalk”. This musical event will keep you singing and dancing all night.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 56th annual Canadian-American Days Festival with an array of events from March 11-19th. Gear up for a variety of free events including concerts, golf tournaments, discounts and more.

Zookeeper for a Day

Learn the ins and outs of what it takes to be a zookeeper at Brookgreen Gardens. Guests ages 12 and up can get an in depth look by feeding, cleaning, taking care of animals and diet preparation. Guests will also get to interact with all different types of animals.

Join the second annual Myrtle Beach Highland Games and Heritage Festival at The Market Common on March 24 & 25th. The event will feature athletic competitions, whiskey tasting, live music, Celtic shopping and more. Events include Clachneart, Heavy Weight Throw, Bramer Stone Throw, Sheaf Toss, Turning the Caber, and the Weight Over Bar Toss. Enjoy free admission to Friday’s celebrations, tickets for Saturday are available in advance or at the gate.
