At Joye Law Firm, we take pride in recognizing our employees’ dedication and hard work. This year, we are excited to celebrate two incredible team members, Ashely Alger and Marcy Huckabee, for reaching their 10-year milestone anniversaries. Their stories are a testament to the positive culture we strive to build, where each person’s journey is unique, fulfilling, and driven by a passion for helping others.

Ashley’s 10-Year Journey: From Client to Case Manager

Ashley’s connection to Joye Law Firm began long before she became an employee — she was once a client. Impressed by the care and professionalism she received, when she saw an opportunity to join the team, she jumped on it.

“I was a client before I became an employee,” Ashley recalls. “They treated me well as a client, and I liked what I heard when I called and saw when I visited the office. Great teamwork and a healthy job environment, so I gave it a shot and applied.”

Over the last decade, Ashley has worn many hats at Joye. She started in the intake department, where she was promoted to Intake Supervisor and Referral Coordinator. She then moved to the medical records team before being promoted again to Case Manager. It’s been a rewarding journey of growth and learning.

“I love the continuous training Joye does. I like the adventure of something new daily,” she says. “Honestly, it’s the clients and the team I work with. I love that we help clients in need, and I truly enjoy coming to work every single day.”

Her hard work and infectious energy haven’t gone unnoticed by her colleagues. Attorney John Aylor shares, “I’ve settled more cases with Ashley at Joye Law Firm than I have with any other case manager, and her humor and encouragement make it very fun to work with her.”

Marcy’s 10-Year Journey: From Defense to Advocating for the Injured

Marcy’s path to Joye Law Firm was quite different but equally rewarding. With a background in workers’ comp defense, she wasn’t sure she could transition to representing injured workers. After just a few days on the job, she realized she had found her true calling.

“I was working for a workers’ comp defense firm and then went to a small boutique firm in Summerville. After three months, I was unfulfilled and searching for more. That’s when I found Joye,” Marcy shares. “I worried I wouldn’t be able to make the switch from defense to plaintiff, but within days I realized what I had been missing — these are REAL people, not just names on a file.”

For Marcy, the most rewarding part of her job is helping clients navigate some of the darkest times in their lives. “Seeing a good result for a deserving client and being a light in a very dark part of their lives is what drives me,” she says.

Her determination and skill have earned her the admiration of her team. Attorney Matt Jackson notes, “Marcy is an extremely dedicated, hard worker. She is someone who gets the job done. She is truly tenacious and talented.”

Thank You, Ashley and Marcy!

Ashley and Marcy’s passion, commitment, and dedication are a huge part of what makes Joye Law Firm a great place to work. We’re grateful to have them on our team and are excited to see what the next decade holds for them! Thank you both for 10 years of outstanding service and for helping make a difference in the lives of so many.
