Description of Accident: A fatal crash occurred on US 178 at Bryant Road, approximately two miles west of Harleyville, around 4:50 p.m. The collision involved a 2013 Nissan Altima and a Polaris ATV, both traveling east on US 178. The 48-year-old man driving the ATV was struck by the Nissan, causing the Polaris to veer off the left side of the road and overturn. The Nissan went off the right side of the road and collided with a tree. The ATV driver was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Nissan sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
