Description of Accident: A tragic crash at a West Columbia intersection claimed the lives of a 68-year-old and a 17-year-old around 7:30 on Friday night. The victims were in one vehicle, struck by a 24-year-old driver in another car. The at-fault driver had been involved in a prior accident at 12th Street and C Avenue before colliding with the victims’ car at B Avenue and 12th Street. He displayed slurred speech and initially refused a sobriety test. He’s now in custody facing two felony DUI charges and one count of leaving the accident scene. West Columbia police can’t provide further details due to the ongoing investigation.
