Description of Accident: An 82-year-old pedestrian from Charleston was struck by a southbound Kia Soul while she attempted to cross Sam Rittenberg Boulevard outside of a crosswalk. The victim succumbed to her injuries at MUSC. The driver was unharmed. Southbound lanes were closed for hours during the investigation. Witnesses are urged to contact the Charleston Police Traffic Unit at 843-965-4084.
