Description of Accident: A devastating wrong-way crash in Fairfield County killed two people. The collision occurred on Interstate 77 North when a 2020 Ford SUV traveling south in the northbound lane, struck a 2018 Toyota SUV and a 2016 Audi sedan head-on. The Ford’s driver died at the scene. The Toyota’s driver, a 30-year-old from Burlington, ON Canada, succumbed to her injuries on January 11. The Audi’s occupants escaped injuries. The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office.
