Description of Accident: A 67-year-old Charleston resident lost their life after being struck by a westbound vehicle on I-26 near mile marker 209/Ashley Phosphate Road. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 9:25 p.m. The victim was attempting to cross the road when he was fatally injured by a vehicle exiting the highway. The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed the fatality at the scene.
