Description of Accident: A tragic accident occurred Tuesday morning near Spartanburg Regional Hospital, claiming the life of a pedestrian. The victim, an employee of the hospital, was crossing East Wood Street at the intersection with North Church Street using a crosswalk between the Physician Center and the main hospital. While in the middle of the crosswalk, she was struck by a black Chevrolet Tahoe SUV traveling east on East Wood Street. Emergency responders rushed the woman to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
