Description of Accident: Police are searching for a driver who hit and killed a man on U.S. 278 near Okatie Center Boulevard and then fled the scene. According to reports, the vehicle traveled east to leave the scene. The 40-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. While no description of the vehicle is available police advise it may have suffered front-end and windshield damage in the wreck.
