Description of Accident: A tragic head-on collision occurred near the Haywood-Buncombe County line, resulting in the deaths of two drivers and injuring an eight-year-old child. The crash took place on US-19 when a pickup truck, traveling west toward Haywood County, crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound Ford Explorer. The driver of the pickup, a 37-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle, and both he and the 57-year-old woman driving the Ford Explorer were pronounced dead at the scene. An eight-year-old child, who was a passenger in the Ford Explorer, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
